CoWLUG volunteers at Creation Nation

LEGO Creation Nation at Park Meadows July 13-15 was a success, thanks to CoWLUG members who volunteered to help out at the event. Reed extends his thanks to everyone who made time to come down for the build and break down.

Reed commented on the break down segment of the event saying, “I don’t want to boast but I think it might possibly have been the most fun I have had at a breakdown party in a long time.”

See if you can figure out which CoWLUG member ended up buried in the brick pile above. Then take a look at the mishap to the left. Give us your guess as to how that might have happened.

Remember, LEGO always welcomes CoWLUG volunteers for events. As you can see, it’s not all work.

Colorado Mills MOCs Show 2012

We’re in the last couple hours of the Colorado Mills MOCs Show scheduled to celebrate the grand re-opening of the LEGO store here at the mall. As you can see, there are a variety of builds on display by a handful of members who came out to participate – including a new member showing for the first time! Yay!

A small monorail display and practice run-through is up and running, thanks to Mark, Ryan and Imagine. Thank you to Shawn for bringing his large Statue of Liberty, snagged at the last minute to support the tracks! Ian’s train drag races are also up and running for hours of programming and racing fun.

Once setup was complete, members have been taking turns building from bins of brick Mark provided, to complete some items for the Make-A-Wish Foundation build. Thanks to everyone for dedicating some time to helping out! Finally, a huge thank you to John for organizing the show and for being a part of CoWLUG. We’re going to miss you after you move.

Community Window

LEGO stores across the country have started up the Community Window once again. Local LUGs may organize displays that meet specific criteria for a month long display. Within the CoWLUG group, Matthew Ramsey is organizing the window rotations for the Colorado Mills LEGO store and Reed Yaeger is organizing the window for the Park Meadows LEGO store. You can contact either of them through the Yahoo Groups CoWLUG list if you are interested in learning more about the requirements.
